Advent in Nagybajom

On December 14, 2024, the festive Advent atmosphere arrived at the Nagybajom Community House as well. All three groups held their Advent Family Day on this day. The house was adorned with holiday decorations, welcoming guests to enjoy a day of shared preparation for the upcoming Christmas season.

“After a brief welcome, the children and volunteers prepared a festive Christmas fair for the participants. We spent the afternoon engaging in various activities at the workshops. We enjoyed a fun Advent quiz game; took part in the preparation and baking of bejgli; decorated gingerbread cookies; and, with Uncle Roland, we created a small Christmas village from cardboard. With Zalán Győző, we participated in a quiz game. The youngest family members made salt dough Christmas decorations with Dorina Gál. We could also have a Christmas-themed family photo taken, which we could take home as a keepsake. The event was attended by Miklós Radoszáv, who spent time chatting informally with us. At the end of the day, the children made the event even more heartfelt with a musical and poetry program, accompanied by flute music. As we said goodbye, we received food packages, along with food vouchers and the Yearbook, from our mentors. We would like to thank the Foundation for its support and assistance throughout the year, which they provide for our children and for us, our families.” – Anikó Antal, Nagybajom Group 2

“On this shared afternoon, we could relax with our parents, friends, and mentors, and tune into the spirit of the Christmas holiday. It is always a joy to see our Community House full of people. We love preparing tasks and programs to invite our parents to play as well, a way to thank them for their hard work and sacrifices for us. After much laughter and in great spirits, we returned to our homes.” – Vanessza Kovács, Nagybajom Group 2

This year, following tradition, families were supported with food packages provided by the Bonafarm Group and supplemented by the Foundation.

We wish our Founder’s family, the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and their families, our supporters, all the employees of the Foundation, and the entire “Csányi Community” a blessed, peaceful, and love-filled Christmas holiday!
