“We once again had a project day in Szeged, unfortunately, this time we had to do it online. Even though some technical difficulties occurred, everyone managed to present their parts from the topic. We had a lot to say, we had 3 different topics. We talked about famous cities and how they are aligned next to the Tisza river bank. We talked about river regulating, a geographical facts. And also we went into details about the so called ‘Boszorkánysziget’ which translates into witch island. Zsolt gave the presentation about the river regulations. After basic information, he talked about how and why they regulate Tisza, and he talked about the flooding of Szeged as well. Evelin gave a presented the Boszorkánsziget. She talked about the location the the island itself. She also mentioned the witch hunting and burning that happened there centuries ago. We talked about famous witches that were persecuted in Szeged.I did the presentation about the cities – Szeged, Csongrád, Szolnok, Tiszafüred and Tokaj. I tried to show them the picturesque landscape and talk about how much it means that a city is next to a river. I mentioned accurate numbers. I also helped them imagine how such a city could have looked k like in the middle ages, and what role they play to this day.” Marcell Sebők, Szeged 1, 4th year student of hungarian history and literature
