The J1 and J4 groups participated together in an interactive presentation at the Community Center. On Tuesday afternoon, Dóra Nagy-Bodnár and László Gáva from the OTP Fáy Foundation were with us, helping us understand how we can better manage our money. We worked on tasks together or in smaller groups. It’s important to live thoughtfully, and within the family, we need to discuss our income and expenses. It matters whether we really need something, or if we’re just buying it because we want it or like it. These are the things we can save on. During the activity, we learned about warranty, guarantee, and liability, terms that we weren’t always familiar with. It was interesting to see during the different tasks that our opinions didn’t always align with the children’s. They spend money much more freely and don’t always think things through the way we do. Parents typically buy cheaper things for themselves, while we buy more expensive items for the children. We were encouraged to save for emergencies, but during the conversation, it became clear that this is becoming increasingly difficult, as most of our money is spent, and we’re just waiting for our next paycheck. It was a very enlightening afternoon, and it was great to play together a bit! Thank you very much!

We participated in a financial awareness presentation by the Fáy Foundation, which was presented in a playful format. The goal of the presentation was to help us understand the importance of financial decisions and the basics of conscious planning. We discussed managing money, the impulses we encounter daily, and how they encourage us to spend. Since I’m studying this topic at school, much of the information was familiar to me, but the presentation was still interesting and entertaining as I brainstormed with my friends. I especially enjoyed the interactive part, where we worked in teams to answer various questions. It was a useful and enjoyable program that also showed the practical side of financial awareness.
