We made a trip to Szilvásvárad

“The school year started with an exciting excursion in the morning, when all the “Csányi” groups of Jászság, young and old, set off for the Bükk. We were very happy to finally meet each other and spend the whole day together. We went up to Szilvásvárad in a small train. The weather was so nice that many tourists came to the Szalajka Valley to hike, so many of us had to stand on the small train until we reached the end of the line, but it was a fun trip anyway. We were the first to admire the Veil Falls, which impressed everyone. The beautiful scenery, with high hills, cliffs and so many plants, was in front of our eyes all day, especially when we headed down the mountain. In the small backwater lakes of the Salajka stream we saw numerous trout and ducks swimming around us. The water was clear, yet turquoise blue. During the walk, we chatted a lot with the newest members of the Community House, the freshmen of the Jászság 2 group. It was a very good atmosphere, we laughed, got to know each other and learned new things about each other. In the meantime, a Plum Day was held in the village, where we also got into the good mood. Then we went to the Local History Exhibition, where we heard about many interesting historical events and got a better insight into the different historical periods. Thank you for this fun day, I wish you all an equally good school year!” Simon Ramóna Fruzsina Jászság Group 4

“We visited the Orbán House in Szilvásvárad, where there is a Local History Exhibition and an Archeopark. Here we had our first visit to a house built in the 1880s, furnished in period style, with attention to local customs and culture. Inside the house we could see a collection of 1880s utensils. Behind the house in a converted barn was the next exhibition, here we could see the history of the Bükk area from prehistoric times (Earth history) to the conquest of the land, which spanned 4.5 billion years. Here we could observe various rocks, tools, clothing, and the development and spread of local industry and iron culture, as well as the results and reconstructions of various archaeological researches. Then, in the Archeopark, we visited various ancient dwellings from prehistoric times to the Iron Age. Here, various cockroach eggs were hidden, which were a challenge for young and old alike, looking for objects that did not fit into the installations, which sometimes caused a serious puzzle. All in all, it was a meaningful trip, we learned a lot of new things and it was interesting to listen to the stories and experiences of József Regős, “Squirrel” uncle.” András Oláh and Ferenc Horváth Jászság Group 3

“We had a good trip to Szilvásvárad, we laughed a lot, the scenery was beautiful, the waterfall was beautiful and it was exciting to ride the train. All my group mates really enjoyed it. It was nice to be with the others and we got to know the big ones. We talked and walked a lot. I hope we will have many more good days like this together!” Boglárka Sipos-Szabó Jászság Group 2
