On October 7, 2024, the S10 Academy chess club held its first meeting. We had the great honor of being visited by László Polgár, who introduced us to his invention, Star Chess. This is a unique, advanced version of traditional chess, featuring new strategies and moves. He brought it to us especially because Star Chess made its debut at the Chess Olympiad this year, 2024. Through various increasingly challenging puzzles, we learned the distinctive moves of this dynamic, fast-paced game. We also gained insights into the positive effects of Star Chess (and traditional chess), heard how someone can become a genius, and learned valuable life lessons from Mr. Polgár’s own experiences.
