European Birdwatching Day Along the Orci Stream

This weekend, we participated in the European Birdwatching Day organized by the Kaposvár Local Group of the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Society!

The Kaposvár local group held a bird ringing event on the Orci Meadow on Sunday, October 6, 2024, starting at 8:00 a.m. The location was along the Orci stream, between the villages of Toponár and Orci, on the meadow.

We attended the event with Kristóf Tóth. It was fascinating to see that, following the Tömörd Bird Observatory, many robins, a few blackbirds, dunnocks, and hawfinches were caught in the nets this time.

We are grateful to András Szentpáli and Krisztián Geibl for the invitation. Not only did we get to enjoy the fresh air while contributing to a noble cause, but we also had the chance to reconnect with old acquaintances and enjoy great conversations. Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon!
