On Saturday, March 8, the Kaposvár Group 1 participated in their third self-awareness workshop, led by Nóra Nógrádi, a university student from Group 3. The session offered participants an engaging and interactive morning exploring the basics of assertive communication.
Nóra, who holds a degree in psychology, drew upon her academic background to design the session. Her goal was to equip participants with communication techniques that enable them to express their thoughts and feelings confidently yet respectfully.
As part of the workshop, the children received a workbook to help deepen their understanding of the topic. The program went beyond theory—it included several playful exercises designed to help participants practice assertive communication techniques in real-life scenarios and recognize the differences between aggressive, passive, and assertive behaviors.
A key element of the session was collective reflection and open discussion, giving everyone the chance to share their experiences and ask questions. After the theoretical introduction, participants tried out the newly learned methods through various role-play activities.
Participants unanimously described the workshop as a positive experience. Many highlighted that they gained new insights and valuable knowledge. Group members particularly enjoyed the practical exercises, which helped them apply assertive communication strategies in their daily lives.
