Dinner Night in November

The first dinner evening of this school year was held on November 4, and after the opening, the event was introduced by the Csányi Band. Our guest of honour was Levente Csender, József Attila Award-winning writer and educator, who during the nearly two-hour roundtable discussion unveiled details of his private life and career. He guided us through the hardships he experienced during his childhood in 1980s Transylvania, and showed how he managed to leave all that behind and eventually receive one of Hungary’s most prestigious literary awards.

The event was again hosted at the Opus Jazz Club, where, while enjoying dinner, we had the opportunity to get to know Levente Csender more closely. Thanks to his exceptional openness, we could even ask him personal questions, and everyone who was interested had the chance to exchange a few words with the renowned writer. After dessert, the dinner evening and our conversation with the guest of honour came to an end, and I can confidently say that everyone took home something meaningful from the experience.
