“Today, with my chamber music colleagues, Balázs Huber and Antónia Polgár, we traveled to Budapest to begin our preparations for the Life Path Festival. Our repertoire was enriched with a piece titled ‘Turkish Tango’ and ‘A Night Waltz,’ which were composed for us by Nadin Varga, one of the pianists of the Chamber Orchestra and a student of composition at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music. The first piece is a clarinet and piano composition, while the second is a cello and piano co-production. I played the clarinet, and Tonka played the cello, both accompanied by Nadin on the piano. Balázs shared his future plans with us, and we also had a professional discussion about potential chamber orchestra joint productions and their specifications. In Pest, alongside Nadin, Noémi Majláth impressed us with her viola pieces, which we listened to with great pleasure. A rehearsal is nothing without a leader, so our orchestra leader, Adriána Kalafszky, spent the day with us, assisting us with her professional knowledge to ensure a productive rehearsal.
