“With the help of 15 creative, interested children and 4 enthusiastic teachers, the design and realisation of the city of future began. They talked a lot about sustainability and the services a city can provide. They all chose their own areas of responsibility to complete the city. They were introduced to the technological tools that they themselves will use in the sessions: 3D printer, laser cutter, microcontroller, soldering station. They learned how to use them safely. From design to production, from the construction of the city to its operation, they will carry out all the processes themselves, working together to implement their individual ideas. Their activities are mentored by four well-trained tutors who are also captivated by the story and the children’s enthusiasm. The sessions use the methodology of creative pedagogy, with the Maker’s Red Box curriculum. This develops their creativity, communication, collaboration, problem-solving and 21st century technology skills. It will help them in their career choices. The Csányi Foundation provides all the necessary tools and a modern environment. The past 2 days have convinced me that the City of the Future is in very good hands at the Csányi Foundation Community Centre in Mohács. A motivated team that knows each other well has started its work. I look forward with interest to the handover of the city.” József Tar, Innovation Expert, Edtech Hungary
