We officially kicked off this year’s hiking season with the Three Kings Charity Hike, departing from Kaposfüred. For the 17th time, the beautiful surroundings welcomed hiking enthusiasts. Participants could choose between 10-kilometer and 4-kilometer routes. As in previous years, this year’s hike also had a charitable aspect: on January 4, the proceeds from registration fees were donated to brighten the days of those at the Nyitott Kapu Homeless Shelter. The only requirement for participation was to bring a bar of chocolate.
This year, we opted for the shorter route, which felt more like a leisurely walk, yet it seemed to stretch as long as the 10 kilometers! Along the way, we helped ourselves generously to slices of bread topped with lard and red onions, prepared for the hikers. Depending on age, we sipped protective beverages—hot tea or mulled wine.
The hike was a fantastic opportunity to share New Year’s resolutions, plan for 2025, and brainstorm future hiking ideas. Our first outing was accompanied by authentic joy and laughter, and we hope the entire year will follow in this spirit. So, Happy New Year to everyone!
