First steps into gastronomy

The members of Szentes 2 resumed the Guidance Program together after the summer break, and we had a fulfilling day ahead of us. We were excited to meet our new drama teacher, Ibolya Matos. During the drama class, we first got to know each other, and then we explored emotions and self-awareness. The class was structured with fun activities, so the time flew by. We ended the morning by solving a historical reading comprehension task.

   

In the afternoon, we embarked on a culinary adventure. Over the next few months, the focus will be on learning in the field of gastronomy. As ninth graders, we want to learn how to independently prepare tasty dishes, help out at home, and surprise our families and friends with meals and desserts we make ourselves. In the months ahead, we will develop our skills in this area. We’ll decide what dishes or desserts we want to learn to make. That’s what we did on Saturday, when we made lunch together—breaded pork cutlets with corn rice. After that, we started preparing dessert. Everyone was enthusiastic and eagerly awaited the results. The kitchen was full of coordinated teamwork. We rotated tasks, and everyone wanted to contribute, so we all had a clear view of the process. First, we made a simple yet impressive and delicious puff pastry snack, followed by a large batch of muffins. We decorated the muffins with colorful cream and enjoyed them while having a big chat. This day not only helped us get to know each other better but also allowed us to dive deeper into gastronomy.
