With the weekend rehearsals of the Chamber Orchestra and the Csányi Band, the new school year has begun for our orchestras. The Community House of Pécs hosted the two bands, as usual, who, in addition to their joint performance, also prepared separately for the annual Gudiance Day performance. The rehearsal of the Chamber Band began with an audition, and we were delighted to have a new talented flutist join our team in the person of Lotti Berkecz, a member of Szentes Group 1. The individual, small group and group rehearsals were held in a good atmosphere, with Adriána Kalafszky, Elemér Fehér and Eszter Hargitai, and volunteer Kata Réka Regián helping the orchestra to prepare. As usual, we are also venturing into lighter genres alongside classical music and are looking forward to playing together again in November.
The rehearsals of the Csányi Band have started in the Community House in Pécs for the academic year 2022/23, an intense two days of rehearsals. It was a pleasure to meet the young musicians, to discuss the programme for the anniversary and to order the equipment to support our work. Special thanks to Balázs Wensofszky for putting together the Csányi Band’s equipment needs, for his professional input, to Andrea Bálint-Orsós and the Csányi Foundation Board for their help with the ordering, and thanks to the members of the Board of Trustees for their positive assessment of our equipment needs. The last rehearsal of this year will be held in November at the Community House in Pécs, and we are all looking forward to it.
