We had the opportunity to participate in a training at the Groupama Driving Technology Center within the “Driving Technology Training” competition announced by the Alumni organization of the foundation. First we attended a class, where we discussed things like the proper seat position, information about tires and brakes, and the behavior of vehicles in different weather conditions, all illustrated by videos. Then we did a lot of useful braking and steering tasks, which were first performed in dry and then wet road conditions on a synthetic resin track. We learned a lot about choosing the right speed, and how differently the car behaves on dry and wet roads, especially when it comes to emergency braking, avoiding obstacles, and regaining control over the car.
