I’ve got my second degree

When I started learning English at the age of 10, I knew that when I grow up I want to help children get to love English the way I was encouraged by my English teacher. In 2005 I became a member of the supported students by the Csányi Foundation. As we started our lessons in English, we liked it a lot because they were not only amusing but we were also interested in the language. It’s very important to know that this opportunity gives us a lot and we also need to take it seriously because we can benefit a lot from it, even when it is hard to prepare for our lessons but for instance when we go to camps, we can learn a lot there, too. I’d like to thank my English teacher, Mr Andras Szabo for helping me enhance my English and also for realising that my future is in connection with foreign languages. I’d like to thank my mentor, Ms Judit Sziráki for supporting me during the years I spent with her. My whole future would not succeed if it weren’t for Dr Miklós Radoszáv, Erika Csányi and our founder, Dr Sándor Csányi. When I was 12 years old I did not expect these many things that I can thank to this Foundation, but being part of this community for fifteen years showed me that this can help me reach my goals, and the connections and friendships I made here will be everlasting.

In 2013 I started my studies at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church at the Faculty of Humanities as a teacher trainee of English and German. In our third year we had to decide whether we wanted to teach seniors in primary schools or in secondary schools. Back then I thought that I am better with young learners so I applied for that training. As our training ended, where we studied Literature, Linguistics, Psychology etc., we started teaching in schools with mentors. My university wanted me to teach in Békásmegyer in Veres Péter Secondary Grammar School, where I got both my English and German teaching mentors. Unfortunately, only my German teaching mentor got a group with young learners but this was a relief for me because I could finally decide that I want to teach secondary school students but it was late to change my training so I finished it and I hoped that I can get accepted to a secondary school to teach. My first workplace was a secondary vocational school where I taught English as a foreign language but my boss told me to study on and get another degree with which I could teach secondary school students, too. In July in 2019 my application for this training was accepted so I could continue my studies as a teacher of English as a foreign language. After a school year I could finally hold my degree in my hands, so I can officially teach English in secondary schools, too. I am so happy for my decision and glad that the Csányi Foundation was by my side during my studies. Király Kinga jászság1
