On march 25 we could hear a presentation from Simon P. Edit about the cleaning stuff we are using at home. She has been giving us information of this topic over the past few years. In her presentation we could hear about the disinfectants we use at home in order to get a hygienic and clean home. Unfortunately in many cases the substances used ( vinegar, sodium carbonate) can cause unwanted effects without us even noticing them. For instance vinegar can destroy the rubber parts of our washing machine. When we have a clogged pipe vinegar can lead to the breaking of the pipe. The effect of the two substances could be observed in an experiment on this interesting presentation. as well as the reaction of coke when mixed with sodium bicarbonate. Later we changed the topic and discussed washing powders and detergents. The audience shared their experience with alternative detergents. The presenter accentuated the importance of the washing instructions on the packaging and that we should also consider the hardness of the water. Using more detregent does not mean that our clothes will be cleaner but we waste the product. The presenter also talked about cosmetic products(body lotion, deodorants, etc) We learned aboutdying hair and even about beauty products for dogs.
Time flew so we agreed that the meeting is to be continued….
Thank you for the presentation!
