Nature trail in Mohács

“On Saturday, as part of our German project, we walked around the trail stations in Mohács. We learned a lot of new and interesting information about the Germans of Mohács: the settlers who, according to the registry office records, arrived here around 1770 and settled in the “Dajtsche Gasse”, now Kossuth Lajos Street, next to the former post road. We read about the Swabian families who moved from the surrounding villages to Mohács 200 years later, in the 1960s, and started a new life here. We heard about the boatmen and fishermen who worked for generations, breathing the Danube, and about the accordion teacher who dedicated his life to teaching for decades. It was interesting to see how many nationalities, apart from the Swabians, have lived together in peace in the city of Mohács for centuries. We were a bit tired by the last stop, but we still had some energy left to jump around the playground.” Viktória Prevácz, Group 1
