Parents Meeting in Mohács

In September, the school year began, and, as is customary, the parent meetings commenced. The parents of the Mohács 3 group gathered with great excitement at the Community House for our first meeting, where we learned about the exciting challenges our children will face in the coming months. The group’s mentor, Annamária, presented the sessions and their schedules, followed by a discussion on the opportunities available to the children, including the Children’s Parliament, Football and Chess Championships, and other scholarship opportunities, as well as summer camps. We began to speculate on which activities our children might show interest in, though these decisions will ultimately be made by the little first-graders themselves. We are all eagerly awaiting our next joint program: the family day scheduled for a few days from now, where the children, who have already become friends at camp, can reconnect, and the parents and siblings can get to know a bit more about life in “Csányi.”

On September 19, during the 2nd group’s parent meeting, we reviewed the summer camps, discussed the programs for the school year, and the current scholarships. This year, the children will participate in the Maker’s Red Box project, where they will learn the techniques of 3D printing and laser cutting. In 2025, they will attend two camps: a local history camp in Tokaj and a local camp in Mohács. The children are eagerly anticipating the October Football and Chess Championships in Kaposvár and look forward to meeting the new members of their small group!

Parents of the Mohács 1 group also met that day. We evaluated last year’s tasks and the summer camps. The parents had the opportunity to see the city built under the Maker’s Red Box program and praised the children for their creativity and skills. In the second part of the meeting, we discussed the most important tasks and programs for the upcoming school year. A key focus for our group will be starting the ECDL exams and solving the tasks of the foundation’s Language Competition. We will also continue our Mohács 500 project. This year, we plan several events to assist the children in deciding on their future education. At the end of the meeting, we coordinated the program for our Family Day, which will take place on September 28.
