On 16 September 2023, we were invited by the mentor of the Szentes 2 group to spend a Saturday together. The Family Day was held in the beautifully kept Community House and courtyard. Some of the parents helped with the autumn chores in the landscaped courtyard, pruning and cutting the plants, preparing for the autumn rest, so that the roses and other vegetation will bloom again in the spring. The main activity of the day was also the decoration making, where the fathers and grandfathers of the families could make door-knockers and home decorations according to their creative spirit! Most of them made a wreath to put decorations on. There was real coordination and informal discussion between parents and children. We had the help of our volunteer Erzsike Csige Istvánné, Anett Szabó florist, who also supported the team with materials. To the delight of group 2, I volunteered to make pancakes, which were the dessert after lunch. Several parents brought cakes, which were consumed very quickly. It was thanks to a family effort that Rajmund Mezei and his parents agreed to prepare lunch for nearly 30 people. After lunch, chess was brought out from the shelf, the football lovers could relax on the sports field of the neighbouring secondary school, and the younger ones could do some table-painting in the courtyard. It was another well-coordinated, well-organised day together. We look forward to the next gathering.

On today’s Family Day, the dads did some autumn work in the garden. The children and their parents had the opportunity to make wreaths and window decorations from autumn fruits and decorative materials. We also made our own lunch, chopping vegetables for salads, and some parents cooked meat, mushrooms and potatoes on the griddle. The sports lovers went over to the courtyard of the Boros Samuel Vocational and Technical School to play football. The weather was also good for outdoor activities, so we had a fun day together.
