From attic to the cellar – Eger

Jászság Group 4 took part in a science day on Saturday, November 30th, during which we traveled to Eger early in the morning to see the Journey around the Earth in the Magic Tower on the Sixth Floor Planetarium in the Eszterházy Károly University Building and then we saw experiments on air pressure in the Jedlik Ányos Experimentarium within the framework of an extraordinary lesson. We ate our lunch at the nearby Glutton Fanny restaurant, which is a really child friendly restaurant. Afterwards we strolled downtown, where we were surrounded by an Advent atmosphere. Finally, as part of the City Under the City program, we took part in a fantastic chocolate-seeking adventure tour of the Eger cellar system, where we learned a lot of interesting things about the city. “We went to Eger to the Planetarium of Eszterházy Károly University. We had to climb many stairs to see the astronomer. During the presentation we got to know the star systems around our Earth, the important constellations, eg Milky Way, Boys, Little Dipper, Big Dipper, Arctic Star, etc. and how and how they helped the lives of sailors, wanderers, and voyages. We have learned that there is a north and south night starry sky, its meanings. We got to know the mythological constellations, their stories and tales. The presentation contained very interesting, valuable information. It was a fantastic sight to see above our heads, the entire Star System! It was a very, very cool day! ”Simon Ramóna Fruzsina Jászság Group 4 and Simon Zoltánné volunteer

“We did a lot of things during the experiments, first with the air and then with the air pressure. Throughout, we have seen devices that are also available in households. First we worked with a plastic bottle, then came the champagne glass, which made everyone very scared because the cellophane on the bottom exploded. Then we learned a lot of interesting things about the stars and then we dealt with water. We also used beer cans, when we put the hot water metal cans in a cold water bowl, it was crushed, very spectacular. Then we worked on a pump and plastic bottle and various chemicals. We also dealt with adhesion a bit. What I liked best was that everyone could try everything. ”Anna Oláh Ágnes Jászság Group 4
