Career Orientation Workshop in Nagybajom

Over the weekend, high school students from the Nagybajom Community Center participated in a career orientation workshop as part of the Education sub-project. We consider it important for young people preparing for further education to receive detailed information about the admission system, scoring, and their own opportunities. One of the most important aspects is self-discovery and self-awareness, so they can choose a higher education institution and field of study where they can truly see themselves and want to learn. To assist with this, Andrea Sárközy, a teacher from Táncsics Mihály High School in Kaposvár, who is a career orientation trainer and career advisor, was there to help.

Members of the Nagybajom 1st group already used the scoring calculator before the upcoming admission deadline, with the help of Mrs. Andrea, they calculated points and discussed additional Plan B or even Plan C options alongside their Plan A. The members of the Nagybajom 2nd group still have time for applications, and it was important for them to better understand themselves and their interests, and to receive assistance in selecting the appropriate subjects for the upcoming faculty selection.

“Currently, in my group, Nagybajom 2nd, we are studying in grades 10 and 11, so very important decisions are approaching in our lives, such as faculties, universities, further education. We can turn to Mrs. Andrea with confidence with questions; she showed us what we need to pay special attention to, how to handle the felvi.hu website, and guided us to not just follow one path that is closest to our hearts, but to make our decisions with a focus on our future. Let’s dare to think broadly, participate in the annual Education exhibition. The joint discussion was very useful, it helped us a lot. After the group session, we could individually ask further questions if we had any. Thanks to her, I feel less lost regarding my further education. Thank you very much for your help and advice; we hope we can continue to have conversations with her in the future, as her thoughts gave us ideas that we might not have thought of ourselves.” – Boglárka Szalai, Nagybajom 2nd group.
