This year I got 30th place in category I. of the English OKTV, which means 25 extra points when applying for higher education. However, last year I placed 15th and so I was given 50 points. These points together with those given for taking an advanced final exam reach the maximum 100 extra points that can be attained.
Like last year, the competition was held in the building of TIT Stúdió Egyesület, located in Budapest. We set off for the journey with my mentor early in the morning. In the first part of the competition we had to talk about one of five English articles which were given to us about two weeks before the competition. The articles discussed a variety of difficult problems regarding education, sports and economy. In the second part we had to spontaneously talk about one of many pictures which depicted the problems of today’s world. Although last year I managed to achieve a better place, I’m still very proud of my performance this year. I would like to thank the Csányi Foundation for all of its help.
