On June 19, 2024, an event was held in Székesfehérvár, where our university group mate, Benedek Kovács, secured four places for members of the Nagybajom Group 3. Students from Óbuda University built a race car they designed and created for the second time. At this event, alongside our mentor, Roland, young Tóth Kristóf and Kámán Kristóf, and myself from the university students, were able to attend. We departed from the community house at 10:15 to arrive on time for the exceptional program. On the way, we speculated about what kind of presentation and vehicle the university students would prepare. The event and the venue surprised us, as we got to enter Sóstói Stadium, home to the Fehérvár FC.
After we arrived, we got a glimpse of the final touches being made to the race car, and the program began at one in the afternoon. We learned that over 50 university students from different universities participated in this project, working on practical assembly and theoretical aspects (management, marketing). They receive points for these elements during competitions, so the team’s static and dynamic abilities are essential. The group has over 40 supporters, including Széchenyi István University in Győr, which provided the car’s engine. The presenters shared many interesting facts about the vehicle’s axle, frame, and engine structure. At the end of the presentation, we could examine the vehicle up close. Overall, we gained many new experiences and information about the machine, which will compete twice this summer, even in Croatia!
