A busy start of the year in Kaposvár

At the moment, it is difficult for people who are about to graduate to get out of the constant thinking about further education. It’s all about that now. So naturally, we set off for Educatio 2023 in Budapest with high expectations, curiosity and hope. Some thoughts on our experience are given below:

“It was a surprising experience to see how many different universities the country is home to. Many of the institutions had their own mascots, who toured the building all day to recruit visitors. I was particularly keen to visit the University of Óbuda’s exhibition, as after several open days I was most interested in the university’s computer engineering department. I was greeted enthusiastically at the faculty desk and listened carefully to my questions, which were then answered in detail. One of these questions was how the dual training works, which for this degree course can be started in the first semester. Behind the counter, a display showed a lot of videos of different games made by students, and I found out that the fourth semester project in programming is to make a game, and that the university has a special game development student group, which is strongly supported. In addition to this, it is a special plus point for the university that they have moved in next to the free Chinese soup counter for the duration of the exhibition. In the end, Educatio was an extremely good experience, and anyone who is considering a career choice should definitely visit once.” Dominik Antal

“I looked at the Faculty of Transport Engineering at BME and the Faculty of Transport Engineering at Széchenyi István University (SZE) in Győr, while also visiting the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Óbuda University (ÓE). While visiting the stands of the universities, I could not miss the MÁV stand, where I was also given detailed information about working besides the university. I have no secret desire to work for the railways, and it is already possible to work for them while I am still at university.” Nándor Dausek

“I spent my time at the stands of the Budapest University of Technology and Óbuda University, mainly talking to mechanical engineering students about the difficulties, benefits and life at university. Through these conversations, I learned a lot about the courses at each university, the possibilities of dual training, as well as about colleges and job opportunities. I may still not know exactly where I am going to study, but this day has certainly helped me to understand and assess my options. We shared our experiences on the home ground at the MATE Kaposvár Campus stand over a delicious tea (thank you) with my peers at the end of the day.” Péter Sárközi
