Londoner Diaries; ‘Finish Line’

I’ve landed at Heathrow last Wednesday, and when I was crossing the UK border I realized that it would be my last semester at the ICMP. It is quite a bittersweet feeling. Firstly, it is bitter  because these years were the best years of my life, but this chapter has to end too. Secondly, it is sweet and wonderful to see where it had started and how far I got. According to the ICMP and London I have developed a lot, my music has marvellously changed, improved and moved towards the direction where I do intend to head.

However, there are still four months ahead and several things to get done. This period will be full of work and challenges, which I truly love. My dissertation’s topic is about the relationship of mental health and creativity. I intend to use my knowledge of social-psychology that I have acquired during my studies at the Pazmany Peter Catholic University, in Budapest. Besides the dissertation, there are three other modules to pass, one of them is the portfolio what for I will need to submit three original songs and by the end of the semester, an hour-long presentation will have to take place to demonstrate my music.

The third module is the ‘Business of Songwriting‘ which requires a case study about the system of the western, contemporary music industry, additionally, a marketing strategy of selling my music as an independent singer-songwriter. The last module to pass is the ‘Professional Project’ what for I am going to release an EP. Its release date is the 20th of April.

Besides the school, I still work as an event promoter on the weekends and in my spare time I attend as many gigs as possible. That is what I truly love about London, there is always something to do and there is always something to discover.

Thousand thanks for the founder of the foundation, Mr. Sandor Csanyi and Mrs. Erika Csanyi for giving me the chance to participate in this marvellous adventure. Without their support, this dream could have never come true. Aron Debreceni, Institute of Contemporary Music London, Kaposvár 2.
