CREATIVE SATURDAY

Even on this cold, rainy Saturday morning, we conjured a cheerful atmosphere in the halls of the Community House, as we had a project day again. The members of the Sewing subproject were preparing for the closing fashion show this time around, with one half of the group making the presentation and the others planning the organization of the garage fair and the poster. Then we discussed the options and finished remodeling the used clothes. Tilda Tamasi hand-painted a pattern on the back of an old denim jacket, and we made a denim vest more colorful with iron-on stickers.

“In today’s session, I finished the denim jacket I started earlier. I rarely paint with acrylic, but since it stays on the jacket permanently, I used this technique. My big advantage was that the pattern and colors were already in advance, so only the painting was waiting for me. During the procedure, my teammates checked out what was going on with us. A lot of clothes were made today, and I really enjoyed my job now. ” Tamasi Tilda

We made decorative pillows from the jeans used during the day with the patchwork technique, and we also made a reversible number of reversible bags. We sewed shoulder bags and shopping bags using previously purchased leftovers as linings and embellishments. In addition, our uniforms were made, on which we drew the “small hand” and then painted with Domestos, so the pattern became clearly visible on the black T-shirts. We’ve learned that with these inexpensive and quick-to-make remodels, we can make our old clothes much more fun and fashionable. Andrea Hábenciusnalla Balla

“We started today at half past nine at the Community House. Our first thing was to make the uniforms with a Csányis logo on them and paint them with a hippo as the hippo sucks out the black color, resulting in an orange color. Then we stood for him to make a pillowcase out of denim squares. Meanwhile, one of my companions, started painting the pre-arranged pattern on a denim jacket with acrylic paint, which will be mine at the end of the project. ”Orsolya Varga
