Festive spirit in Kaposvár

The Kaposvár Group 1 held its traditional family Christmas celebration on Saturday afternoon, December 13, at the Kaposvár Community House. Already in the early afternoon, the venue was buzzing with activity, as many things had to be prepared for the program starting at three o’clock.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the children’s performance. They presented a modern adaptation of a play telling the story of the birth of Jesus from a contemporary perspective. The performance was a great experience not only for parents and siblings, but for everyone present, and it was met with overwhelming success.

After the performance, several shared activities awaited the families. During a craft session, participants could make Advent wreaths, followed by a joint gingerbread-baking activity, which brought particular joy to the children. The scent of freshly baked treats filled the community house, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.

Shortly afterwards, one of the most eagerly anticipated moments arrived: the 2025 yearbooks were handed out. The children excitedly flipped through the volumes, searching for themselves and their friends in the photographs, while reliving the shared experiences of the past year. In addition, the families also received gift packages, for which we would like to thank the Foundation once again. The gifts brought many smiles and touching moments to the afternoon.

The program was further enriched by a Christmas photo wall, where families could have photos taken in front of a festive backdrop. Many took advantage of the opportunity: some posed together as a family, others individually or with friends.

Food and drinks also naturally contributed to the good mood, while the entire community house was filled with a Christmas spirit. The participants happily spent the afternoon together, finally having the chance to slow down a little and prepare for the holidays as a community.

“I really liked the Christmas celebration because we could be together with everyone, and not only meet during the regular sessions. I was nervous before the play, but when I saw our parents smiling, I wasn’t scared anymore. The gingerbread baking was also great, and the yearbook too, because it’s nice to look back at everything that happened to us this year. I think this was one of our best shared programs.”

This year’s family Christmas celebration of Kaposvár Group 1 once again proved that the strength of community, shared moments, and a festive atmosphere are what truly make the Advent season memorable.
