We opened the exhibition titled “Pictura” by Kitti Ivanics, a painter from Jásztelek, on November 11th at the Déryné 6 Gallery in the Jászberény Community House.
Dr. Miklós Radoszáv, the Operational Director of the Foundation, welcomed the guests, followed by the professional opening speech of fine artist Kinga Bartos. Finally, Eszter Sisa, a member of Jászság Group 2, played beautiful melodies on the flute for us.
Kitti, a young artist originally from Jásztelek, has been guided by a passion for creation since childhood. After graduating high school, she continued her studies at the Corvin Art School, and later at the Eszterházy Károly University in Eger, where she obtained a master’s degree in Visual and Environmental Culture Pedagogy.
Her art is defined by conscious professional development and continuous experimentation, which she deepens at art colonies and creative camps. The central element of Kitti’s work is reduction—preserving the essence of the visual by omitting unnecessary details. In her paintings, landscapes, animals, built environments, and human figures all become symbols. The large, empty surfaces express not a lack, but silence and contemplation. Her colors are not descriptive but function as emotional and atmospheric tools, encouraging the viewer to engage in internal reflection.
For Kitti, painting is not only self-expression but also a journey of self-knowledge, through which she finds her way back to herself via the canvas. Her works carry a message of clarity and self-identity in the overloaded world of the 21st-century human. Her latest exhibition in Jászberény, consisting of 32 paintings, is the most beautiful summary of this inner journey.
