La bohème

On the 15th of December we once again had the chance to visit the Hungarian State Opera, where we saw Giacomo Puccini’s popular play, La bohème, directed by Kálmán Nádasdy.

With the help of the bittersweet romance and with its beautiful winter setting and music we were able to break away from it all, and we became real parts of an imagined world. The genre of opera is not particularly popular among the youth, but according to us, after a fantastic play like this, a great number of them would take part in such occasions. After the play we discussed it and decided that the diversity of the play made it so special: the sounds of the songs and the music, the movements and mimic of the actors and actresses, the meticulosity and monumentality of the setting, and the plot can only reach its climax and be synchronized in opera, therefore, when we get the chance, we will definitely go to an other play. Thank you for this experience!
