Open days were held in Pecs in the community house on 11th and 14th February 2015.
The main purpose was to let the new candidates’ parents see how the Foundation works and for the others to meet the teachers and see the classes. Following the classes the mentors gave a detailed presentation to all the guests on the details of application. Everyone left satisfied as all their questions were answered.
“As parents we were looking forward to seeing our children on the open days. We had the opportunity to see math, IT and German classes. Eszter the math teacher started the class with a poem of the spring and she managed to blend arts, literature and mathematics flawlessly so every child was really interested. The exercises were just coming and coming, and everyone took their part, there was no time to rest. All the children participated enthusiastically.
On Saturday, we took part in the language classes both the parents and the parents of the candidates. On the German class our children were preparing for the language tests. We were proud to hear them using different sentences in the past tenses. It was followed by a question answer game, about general topics where the young 4th graders joined. They were shy first but in the end they got surprised how much they already know. It was followed by the IT classes held by Andras who had to work hard to keep the children’s attention in the afternoon. Finally the kids were working hard on the typing and word processing exercises preparing hard for the ECDL exam held next year.
We were really happy to see our kids working happily together in these small groups and getting to know their teachers. Thank you for the opportunity and the hard work of the teachers.
