Football and chess competition in Kaposvár

“The football tournament organised by the Children’s Parliament continued this weekend, with the spring round taking place at the Klebelsberg College in Kaposvár. All the players were excited for the day and the matches, as this round marked the end of the championship and the final standings were announced based on the autumn results. After a greeting from the President of the Children’s Parliament, the matches began. The matches were now traditionally hosted by Ádám Papdi, sponsored by Szeged Community House. Also present at the event was Anna Terestyényi, who was also an active player in the football championship rounds when she was young. Anna has recently transferred from Bundesliga Potsdam to Astra Hungary, who play in NB1. Several of our athletes looked up to her as a role model, and it was even more gratifying for them to have her present the awards to them.

The final result of the football tournament was as follows:

Little League:

  1. 1st place: Purple team
  2. 1st place: team Red
  3. 1st place: Orange team
  4. 1st place: Team Light Green Team

Big’s Championship:

  1. 1st place: Team Dark Green
  2. 1st place: team Lemon Yellow
  3. 1st place: team Red

Girls’ Championship:

  1. 1st place: White team
  2. Runner-up: Light Blue Team

Individual results:

Goal scorer: Olivér Csibor (Mohács)

Best outfield player: Márk Majdik (Pécs)

Best small footballer: Adrián Sándor Nikolics (Pécs)

Best female player: Evelin Buzsáki (Nagybajom)

Best goalkeeper: Ákos Kiss László (Jászberény)

We will soon meet at the Life Path Festival, where the players will compete in the Zánka Cup.” Flibert Virág

“After arriving in the morning and a quick room set-up, the spring round of the chess championship began. It was a pleasure to see that every year more and more young and older supporters test their chess skills in the tournament. There were many fine and outstanding results, for which I congratulate the competitors! The last round will be held at the Life Path Festival in Zánka, where the final ranking of the championship will be established.” – Zsombor Barkóczy, Pécs Group 2

While the sports events were going on, the Children’s Parliament held its spring meeting.

“On 05. 04. 2025 the Children’s Parliament of the Csányi Foundation held another meeting, this time in Kaposvár. After András Gál, mentor and Boróka Süle, president of the Children’s Parliament, outlined the agenda, we started to discuss it in detail. The most important points were related to the Life Path Festival. The candidates for the Ambassadors’ Awards were voted on, and we also discussed the jury candidates for the “Colour Your World” and “I Am Who I Am” competitions. In addition, other tasks related to the Festival of Life Paths were discussed, such as night surveillance. Finally, the Children’s Parliament has been planning a team-building programme for members for some time, this is scheduled for September and we are all looking forward to it.”
