My name is Vanda Horváth, a supporter of the Csányi Foundation since 2020. I would like to share with everyone what it is like when perseverance bears fruit, because I and the case of chess are a good example of this. I used to have nothing to do with chess at all. I only started playing chess more actively in August 2023 as a result of the Chess Championship announced by the Foundation, which I first entered in 2022, when I learned to play. Because of my experiences there and the competitive spirit within me, I started practicing more and more in my free time. The following year, the change was already noticeable. They mentioned that I had improved a lot in one year and started thinking about what it would be like to play elsewhere, outside of the Foundation. I became a member of a chess team in Csongrád, where the coach thought he saw potential in me. At the beginning of April, after my first small tournament, I started to train. My first official tournament – and my biggest victory – was in Kiskunfélegyháza, where I participated as a certified player and won the first place among adult women! Before that, we won the gold medal in Mórahalom as a team. I hope to participate in more and more large-scale tournaments and I am happy that the Foundation showed me this great sport! -Vanda Horváth, Szentes 1st group
