This day was a dream

“Discovering something means seeing what everyone sees and thinking what no one else has.” Albert Szent-Györgyi The Jászság 3 group went on a trip to Budapest this weekend. Our first trip took us to the exhibition “Álmok álmodói” held in Millenáris Park, where we were able to get important informations about historically and professionally famous, scientific, technical Hungarian inventors and their inventors. Similar to the Planet exhibition, where we were at the beginning of the year, it enchanted everyone, we couldn’t decide where to look, our attention was always captured by something special. Mechanical engineering was mentioned, where we could see and even sit in Hungarian-developed machines and vehicles. This was followed by medicine, where we looked at the developments and inventions of famous Hungarian doctors, including Katalin Karikó’s vaccine against the coronavirus. Next was the energy section, dozens of Hungarian scientists achieved world-famous results in this field, with their inventions they contributed to the achievements of geophysical research, energy transmission, water, wind energy, mining, oil, natural gas use, and even the atomic age. We walked further, where the topic of agriculture came next, we saw many developments that the great world owes to us, and then telecommunications, where we saw the our nation’s achievements radios, sound machines to televisions. Finally, the aviation and space industry came, one of the most enjoyable parts of the exhibition, where we could explore the surface of the Mars with the help of VR glasses. It is breathtaking for this small nation to have so many brilliant minds in countless fields of science! It feels good that we were able to contribute to the development of the big world in this way.

After the exhibition, we had dinner, then went to the József Attila Színház, where we watched the play “Something Stinks…”. The play took place in 16th-century London, at the time of Shakespeare, and presented the adventures of a pair of writer brothers in their pursuit of success, all with wonderful songs in humorous form. We laughed a lot at the musical, considered by critics and viewers to be the funniest of the past four hundred years. The jokes and the acting of the actors remain memorable. All in all, it was a meaningful day where we learned a lot. We heartily recommend both the exhibition and the theater play to everyone!
