Dear Csányi Foundation

I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity I had to visit the Community House of the Csányi Foundation this past Saturday (2nd February) in Nagybajom.

Upon arrival I was warmly welcomed by both the mentors and students.  During my presentation the students were an attentive and interested audience, and after overcoming initial shyness from the challenge of using English, they participated eagerly in discussion.  This was an excellent opportunity for me to share information about my homeland and culture, and I think both the students and I learned a lot about our similarities and differences. I especially appreciated that the students were curious about American folk music and that we were able to sing  “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” together. When it was time to go, I regretted having to leave such a wonderful environment.  If the opportunity arises, I will gladly return to Nagybajom and the Community House.

Kind regards,
