The Csányi students in Szeged took part in a school year starting warm up programme the last week of the summer holiday.
The aim of the day was to introduce the new students of the Community Hose to the older students and giving them the possibility to make new friends and to know each other. During the day different contest waited for the students in groups in order to prove their creative, mental and physical abilities. After dividing the students into three different mixed groups, the first task was to find the 42 table tennis balls hidden in the house (some are still missing). The groups visited three different venues where they had to solve different tasks. Mr Peti coordinated the first one in the yard where the students had to throw basketballs from three different distances from the hoop. Everyone proved their abilities here. The second venue was guarded by Mrs Piroska. Here, the students had to compose a short performance in rap style, song or written in eszperente (only the use of vowel E was permitted) telling why it is good to be a Csányi student. At the end of the day, the groups showed their performances and all of them got great applause. At the third venue with Mr Zoli, the students had to tackle picture puzzle about famous people and places, had to solve logical and linguistic tasks and a 30-question quiz had to be answered. The results were outstanding.
A kind of contest like this one could not be a real one without prizes. Each group received a cake acknowledging their diligence and willingness. Before consuming the cakes, a big pizza lunch was the last programme.
All the students enjoyed the day and we hope this programme helped get even closer the members of the Community House in Szeged.
