The Hungarian German Theatre has been performing for 25 years in Szekszard.
It is the only professional German speaking theatre in Hungary. Among its duties are the cultivation of German and upholding the cultural traditions of Germans living in Hungary. We watched Shakespeare’s Midsummer night’s dream with our volunteer Valerie on 11th March.
While the play was in German it was translated as well so those who didn’t understand German could follow it as well. The play directed in the spirit of the 21st century radiated a jolly atmosphere in the hall which was a cosy venue for up to 80. On the way back we talked with Valerie about her time spent here.
