We can say that autumn fish harvest in our little pound is a tradition now in the Community House of Szeged. The smaller species are going to survive the winter in the fish tank in the house.
This year was not good for catfish. Last year the mother cat fish died so this year we did not have any catfish offsprings to serve as food for the other fish in the pond. In spring we released 38 small catfish but could harvest only 6 last week. Carassius species lived in the pond like fish in water and there were 34 of them by autumn. In the fish tank in the house there are 6 catfish and 5 carassius species, which will be fed by fish fodder made by the natural science club members with the help of the aquaponics system.
